“My parents never let me lose sight of the idea that if I tried my best and I got a good education, I could be anything I wanted to be.”
Pittsburgh-area native Pam Iovino has dedicated her career to public service. After earning a Masters degree from the Naval War College, she served in the Navy for 23 years, rising to rank of Captain. Upon retiring from the Navy, she assumed a Senate-confirmed appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and most recently served as Director of Veterans Services for Allegheny County. She’s focused on increasing funding for public education, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and promoting gun safety, and has been endorsed by almost 20 labor unions in her blue-collar district.
Pam’s district District 37 is nested almost entirely in Conor Lamb’s congressional district, which flipped blue in 2018. PA is gerrymandered to the hilt; if we flip this seat, Democrats will be only 4 seats down from flipping the state Senate next year… just in time for 2020 redistricting. Let’s get to work!
